Carpet Cleaning Products

Are you beyond disgusted by how your carpet looks? Is it making you hesitant to invite people over to your home or does it reflect poorly on your business and make a terrible first impression? If you're tired of hiding from your carpet problem, it might be time to consider investing in some carpet cleaning products. Whether you realize it or not, getting the right carpet cleaning products can make a huge difference in how your cleaning efforts go. After all, you could get down on your hands and knees and scrub for hours at a carpet and still see no results. But with the right carpet cleaning products in hand, you may very well be amazed by the results.

Types of Carpet Cleaning Products

Several kinds of carpet cleaning products exist that you should know about before you go out and buy anything. First, there are the carpet detergents and cleansers. These products are usually in a liquid or foam form and clean your carpet like shampoo cleans your hair.

Another kind of product is the physical carpet cleaning machine. These machines work in a variety of different ways to clean carpet dirt and stains. There's the spot cleaner that is placed over a small area and set to use bristles to remove the stain and there's the shampooer that is run over larger areas to completely clean the entire carpet from the base of the fibers to the tips.

Other machines run off of steam and still others use a cotton padding system to soak up chemical solutions that break down dirt. These are called bonnet cleaners and can be expensive to buy, so renting is usually your best option.

If you just want to remove surface dirt and give the room a fresh scent, dry cleaners or powders can be used as well. These are typically available at most grocery stores.

How to Use Carpet Cleaning Products

How you will go about using carpet cleaning products will largely depend on what product you select and what you'll be using it for. If your aim is to clean a large area at once, then you'll likely need a chemical solution or shampoo along with a carpet cleaning machine or bonnet system. If you just want to clean a spot or a few select stains, a spot cleaner or steam cleaner might be a better choice.

If you go for the shampoo route, just apply to the carpet by spraying it all over. Concentrate on the tough stains. Then run the machine back and forth over the carpet until it seems clean. Let the shampoo dry then vacuum thoroughly. It's really that simple.

If you use a dry powder, sprinkle all over the carpet then vacuum. This won't really remove too much dirt but it will make the carpet smell nice so this can be a good choice in a pinch or as a part of general maintenance.

Hopefully now you can select the right carpet cleaning products for you.
